Research interests include: (1) understanding the dynamics of fjords; (2) the fundamental biogeochemistry problem on how to predict the sediment delivery by World Rivers since so few are monitored; (3) how river-borne particles clump together once they reach the marine environment; (4) how deltas evolve through time, and under the impact of humans; (5) how humans impact the global environment; and (6) models and model coupling systems with focus on earth and ocean dynamics.
