My collage animation practice reframes imagery of American archetypes and institutions to reimagine our own social and political legacies and futures. I view animation as a critical practice and the acts of cutting out and collaging becomes strategies to intervene in the official readings of appropriated source material. Each of my films harness identifiable cultural and collective narratives while untethering this identification enough to engage other histories and experiences.
