  • My research focuses on the design and practical realization of adaptive RF front-end passive components for: i) next generation wireless communication transceivers with multi-functional and multi-standard operability, ii) electronic warefare systems that intelligently adapt to dynamically-located interferes and for iii) broadband space communication systems with multi-octave spectrum coverage. In particular, I look into novel RF design concepts that facilitate architectures with highly-miniaturized volume, multiple levels of transfer function adaptivity and combined RF signal processing actions (i.e, filtering and matching, non-reciprocal RF filtering). Furthermore, I investigate low-cost, hybrid integration/manufacturing schemes that enable the realization of tunable RF components for frequencies as low as 10s of MHz to as high as 100 GHz.

  • ECEN 2420 - Electronics for Wireless Systems
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018 / Spring 2019 / Spring 2020
    Explores fundamental principles behind the operation of a radio, including a practical introduction to circuit elements. Covers the components and operation of a radio (transmitter and receiver) with simple signals. Students learn lab exercises the operation principles behind components of a complete practical radio system.
  • ECEN 5104 - Computer-Aided Microwave Circuit Design
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2018 / Fall 2019
    Emphasizes the design of strip-line and microstrip circuits, using a CAD package. Discusses design of impedance transformers, amplifiers, switches, phase-shifters, etc. Assignments include design of typical circuits and their analysis using a microwave circuit analysis program. Laboratory includes measurements using a network analyzer facility on a typical circuit designed and fabricated by students.
