Thoa Khuu is a quantitative sociologist who uses demographic and social network methods to study immigrant integration and intergroup dynamics. Her current work focuses on how shifting population patterns in the United States shape the education, health, and social networks of second-generation children. Her research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Population Research and Policy Review, International Migration Review, Social Networks, and Socius. She is currently a recipient of an NIH K99/R00 Career Development Grant.

Includes the sociology of health behavior; links between health status and social statuses including gender, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status; fundamental causes and other explanations for social disparities in health; environment and health; health insurance disparities; the physician-patient interaction and its consequences.
