Dr. Neogi's research focuses on controlling vibrational energy transport in a wide variety of systems using analytical methods and numerical techniques. Control of phonons, the quanta of lattice vibrations, will enable guided heat conduction in materials, improve thermoelectric energy conversion and stability of quantum states in atom-like defects. The CU Aerospace Nanoscale Transport Modeling (CUantam) Laboratory is active in applying physics concepts to discover novel design of nanoscale materials that can enhance the performances of existing technologies.. Additionally, we develop theoretical and computational approaches to design and discover new materials to realize future technologies.
