Dr. Srubar leads the Living Materials Laboratory at the University of Colorado Boulder. The experimental and computational materials science research of the Living Materials Laboratory integrates biology with polymer and cement chemistry to create responsive, biomimetic, and/or living materials for the built environment. His laboratory focuses experimental efforts on elucidating fundamental process-structure-property relationships of new biological building materials and computational efforts on embodied carbon and carbon storage using product- and whole-building life cycle assessment.
