  • Dr. Hun Shik Kim's research areas include broadcast and mobile journalism, international communication, war and conflict reporting, and media performances in Asia-Pacific nations. Dr. Kim has researched the transformation of the news media environment during and after wartime in the Middle East. He has worked on a series of research projects to investigate how news media cover military conflicts and political upheavals in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. Dr. Kim's ongoing research focuses on public diplomacy and news media performances during global crises. Dr. Kim's research has appeared in numerous scholarly journals, including Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Mass Communication and Society, and Journalism Studies.
