  • Erin Hutchinson studies the Soviet Union as a multinational state and society, with a particular focus on cultural and political history. Her book manuscript explores how intellectuals, especially those of rural origins, contributed to the development of nationalism in the USSR after the death of Stalin. Her research examines writers from across the Soviet Union, especially those from the Soviet republics of Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, and Moldova.
