Overview

Norman Herzberg, an Honorary Member of the International Double Reed Society, is one of the most significant and influential figures in the history of American bassoon playing. He is known as both a teacher and player. One significan contribution that Herzberg has made to the bassoon world is the development of his reed profiling system, the Herzberg Profiler/Shaper. Herzberg initially introduced the Profiler/Shaper in 1981, but he made only a limited number of machines at that time. In 2002, Herzberg once again began to produce the machine.
