Vivek Krishnamurthy is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Law School and Director of the Samuelson-Glushko Technology Law & Policy Clinic (TLPC). Vivek’s teaching, scholarship, and clinical legal practice focus on the complex regulatory and human rights-related challenges that arise in cyberspace. He advises governments, activists, and companies on the human rights impacts of new technologies and is a frequent public commentator on emerging technology and public policy issues.

This seminar explores the challenges and opportunities that new technologies pose to the well-being of individuals, communities, and societies through the lens of human rights. Students will gain a grounding in international human rights law and the emerging field of business and human rights, which we will use to explore such contentious topics as guarding against disinformation, preventing algorithmic discrimination, and reconciling digital privacy with national security.
