I work with a team of scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Global Systems Laboratory to develop and operationally implement convective-scale deterministic and probabilistic numerical weather modeling forecast systems that are used by the National Weather Service to forecast extreme and hazardous weather for the United States. I also perform lower-level research on newer forecasting concepts to apply them to large-scale forecasting experiments to assess their utility in the real-time forecasting systems implemented by NOAA.
