  • I do not perform research. For the bulk of my career, I worked on Wall Street and helped entrepreneurs manage their investments and assets. I consult in this field professionally, and at CU, I help students learn investing, portfolio management, personal finance and potentially how to achieve financial independence.

  • FNCE 2820 - Introduction to Personal Financial Planning

    Introduces the concepts, tools, and applications of personal financial planning. Provides the students with tools and techniques for managing their personal finances. With these skills, students gain the ability to effectively deal with their ever-changing financial environment.
  • FNCE 3030 - Investment and Portfolio Management
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2020
    Develops modern portfolio theory and applies it to pricing both individual assets and portfolios of assets. Topics include Markowitz portfolio selection model, capital asset pricing model, arbitrage pricing theory, bonds, portfolio performance measurement, and issues of market efficiency. Formerly FNCE 4030. Degree credit not granted for this course and FNCE 3035.
  • MBAX 6295 - Topics in Finance
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2024
    Provides a vehicle for the development and presentation of new topics with the potential of being incorporated into the standard MBA curriculum. May be repeated up to 6 total credit hours.
  • MSBX 5225 - Advanced Portfolio Management

    Covers the management and construction of investment portfolios. Topics include performance and risk measures, identification of risk factors and the use of traditional and alternative assets classes including real estate, mutual funds, ETFs, venture capital funds, private equity funds and hedge funds. Additional topics include tax consequences of investment decisions and cash management.
