research overview
- My research interests include understanding the mechanisms responsible for age- and disease-related changes in physiological function and identifying lifestyle and/or pharmacological interventions to mitigate these adverse changes. Most recently, as research faculty at the University of Colorado Boulder, I have conducted translational research to identify novel approaches targeting fundamental aging mechanisms to improve vascular function in older adults. This includes leading early phase clinical trials in older adults and designing preclinical studies to inform future clinical trials. My long-term career goal is to continue to study the mechanisms responsible for age- and disease-associated vascular and physiological dysfunction, while identifying novel strategies to prevent and/or reverse dysfunction to ultimately improve healthspan.
