Dr. Costello's work includes both foreign language pedagogy and literature/cultural studies. Her recent research explores the intersections of literature and bioscience in the Soviet interwar period. In general her research interests include 20th century Russian-language literature, literature and science, literature and philosophy, literature and ethics, metafiction, science fiction, transhumanism, and biopolitics. She also publishes and presents on pedagogy and higher education administration.
