- Dr. Cooperstock is a concert pianist and recording artist, who specializes in performing and teaching contemporary American solo and chamber music. His violin-piano duo, Opus Two, has recorded important works by George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Paul Schoenfield, Robert Starer, Lowell Liebermann, and others and performed them across the U.S. and worldwide, on six continents. Dr. Cooperstock's recent recording project, Leonard Bernstein: Complete Solo Works for Piano was released by Bridge Records and Deutsche Grammophon. In 2020, in honor of Beethoven's 250th birthday, Dr. Cooperstock lectured nationally on the composer's pedagogical legacy. For George Walker's centenary in 2022, Dr. Cooperstock presented national lectures and performances of works by the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer. In Fall 2021, Dr. Cooperstock's research into diverse American piano music resulted in a doctoral seminar: 'Rethinking American PIano Music.'
