Dr. Haynes's research is focused on philosophy of art and the role or function of the artist in society. Her most recent books are on the Russian moral philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin and his contributions to visual culture studies, and the vicissitudes of educational leadership. Another area of ongoing research and publication concerns pedagogy, especially the role of contemplative practice in fostering student success in college.
