Examines the epistemological and methodological issues involved in conducting studies with mixed methods designs in educational settings. Explores the pragmatic foundations of mixed methods research, developing coding systems, calculating interrater reliability statistics, data collection strategies, making inferences, and writing up mixed methods research reports. All students in the course are expected to have a solid background in both qualitative and quantitative approaches to research.
