  • Covers the role of ice sheets in the climate system over a range of time (millions of years ago to the long-term future) scales, and presents the interactions between ice sheets, the ocean, and the atmosphere. Students will be introduced to, and work with, observational and modeling methods and data that conceptualize ice sheet climate and related topics. Recommended prerequisite: Basic programming experience (python, Matlab, or equivalent), basic knowledge of calculus, basic knowledge of algebra and at least one ATOC course at the 1000, 2000, or 3000 level with a grade of C- or higher. Same as ATOC 5780.
