Dr. Gentry's research interests include the study and instruction of: 1) vocal pedagogy as it applies to the choral singer and the ensemble setting; 2) non-verbal metaphoric gestures; 3) editing historical choral music; 4) choral/orchestral collaborations; 5) conductor wellness; 5) music of historical underrepresented composers/arrangers; 6) perspectives of historical renown choral conductors; 7) the preparation and performance of choral music from all eras, by all composers, and from all cultures in the world; and 8) developing Empathy and Resilience skills for the educator
