Dr. Steffen's research focuses on the study of processes related to climate, cryospheric interaction, and sea level rise in Polar Regions based on in-situ and satellite observations. He is actively involved in the WMO/WCRP and IPCC assessment of global sea level change and sensitivity studies of large ice sheets using in situ and modeling results.
